IN a bid to ensure the employability of the youth of the Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the Executive Chairman, Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya has empowered them with a web development training programme, titled; "Let Teen Code". 

Information reaching AlimoshoToday states that the three-day training was organised to equip young individuals in the council with essential digital skills.

The presentation of certificates to the beneficiaries after the three-day intensive training was held at the council Secretariat on November 27, 2024.

During the graduation ceremony, the Executive Chairman, who was represented by the Council Manager, Engr. Mojeed Shamson Adio urged the participants to use the skills they acquired to better their lives and their communities.285b

While delivering his welcome address, the Igando-Ikotun Supervisor for Youth, Sport, and Social Services, Hon. Riliwan Yekini, who supervised the training, appreciated the Executive Chairman, other Executive members and the management team, who supported the initiative.

He said that the programme exposed participants to the fundamentals of web development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant programming languages.

"The training was designed to equip young people with the skills and knowledge needed to build dynamic websites and web applications.

"We are committed to empowering our youth and preparing them for the future; this web development training is just one of many initiatives we have planned to equip our young people with the skills they need to succeed,” he added.285c

In their different goodwill messages, the Deputy Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Ganiyu Wahab, and the Supervisor for Agriculture and Social Services, Hon. Femi Abolarinwa, emphasised the importance of acquiring digital skills in today's technology-driven world. 

They encouraged the participants to take the training acquired seriously and make the most of the opportunity.

The three-day training is part of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA's efforts to promote youth empowerment and digital inclusion. The council is committed to providing young people with the skills and resources they need to succeed in the digital economy.
