‘Afro-Depression’, Omah Lay happy with music genre

In a recent interview with Billboard, Omah Lay stated that he is happy with the title as it indicates that listeners understand and relate to his music.

NIGERIAN singer, Omah Lay is happy with fans naming his music genre “Afro depression” as he believes it explains his style of music.

No doubt that Omah Lay’s music is widely known for its emotional traits, as well as lyrics that include sentimental elements, pain, hurt, loneliness, struggles and heartbreak.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Omah Lay stated that he is happy with the title as it indicates that listeners understand and relate to his music.

“I definitely love it. I love that I started a new movement and my music started something new that I didn’t have to come out and tell people that my music is ‘Afro- Depression’.

“My fans made it up and I didn’t have to explain. It’s great to witness that I can just make music and the world can decide what it’s and it becomes a movement,” he said.

His debut album “Boy Alone” and hit record “Soso” exemplify the  “Afro-Depression” tag.
