MOVIE actress and Nollywood star, Adesuwa Etomi-Wellington, has opened up on being disturbed and worried when her husband, Banky W, told her he was venturing into politics.
Bankole Wellington, who is known as Banky W, made the bold decision to venture into politics and made it known to the public his decision to run for public office in 2018 under the Modern Democratic Party.
According to Adesuwa, the decision to venture into politics didn't sit well with her at first, as she was worried and disturbed by her husband's decision.
“When Banky said that he wanted to go into politics, I was a little bit worried and disturbed about it.
“But I also believe that purpose is more important than fear. And I want to see him fulfil his purpose. So, he has my support 100 per cent,” the screen goddess told Hip TV.
Banky W eventually lost the election for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat on February 23, 2019. He contested for the same seat in the 2023 elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but lost again to the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Attah Thaddeus.
