OKUN Alimosho, a non-profit organisation domiciled in Alimosho under the aegis of the AfroVanguard, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, stormed the Alimosho Grammar School in the Egbeda-Akowonjo LCDA of the Alimosho LGA to empower the community students with needed sustainable skills for a brighter future.
Information reaching Alimoshotoday states that the Street to Stardom initiative is a project of Okun Alimosho focused on empowering community kids in public schools in Alimosho with needed sustainable skills.
During the outreach at the Alimosho grammar school, Mr Ujagbe Onofua, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Afrovanguard, informed the students that Okun Alimosho is committed to making them models and great leaders through the inculcation of values like individuation, responsibility, diligence, faith, culture appreciation, communal spirit, and accountability.
Placards carrying information about these values were displayed, and a brief explanation and affirmation were made about each inscription on the placards.
Mrs Ikpea Oluchi, an Alumna of Alimosho Grammar School, also spoke to the children and encouraged them while informing them about the different skill acquisition programmes in Art, Tech, and Music, which will come up during the summer holiday.
The outreach also featured a one-on-one counselling session with the students in the school hall, where some students registered for the upcoming free skill acquisition programme during their summer holiday; some also registered for free tutorials, while others communicated their challenges to the team.
Meanwhile, the team also visited one of its partners, Rev
Rotimi Olukorede, the Lagos Area Council Chairman of the Nigerian Registered Insurance Brokers Council, who applauded and encouraged the mission by pledging his support with great words of advice.
