THE power blackout being experienced today, Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in Egbeda is confirmed to have been caused by the fall of a high-tension electric pole, which also caused traffic gridlock this morning in the Egbeda area of Alimosho LGA.
To prevent casualties or a fire incident, security personnel closed down the road where the affected pole fell down, and vehicles were being diverted to other routes. The gridlock is also as a result of the huge vehicular traffic.
The area has since been left in darkness, as Council authorities are working hard to restore power and fix the situation.
