A menacing flood, occasioned by today's early morning heavy downpour, has overwhelmed the popular Akowonjo Road in Alimosho Local Government Area (LGA).
Building up from Vulcanizer Bus Stop, it has swept into smaller streets without drainages including Ojo Street on the left onwards Egbeda Bus Stop.
Residents were locked in and pedestrians had to take cover in nearby shops as the high-rising floodwater slowed down vehicular movement, thereby causing heavy traffic on the ever-busy business hub of Alimosho.
Cars literally swam in it and only lorries were lucky to sail like a boat.
