Major roads in Lagos have been held to a standstill as the #EndSARS protest enters its 12th day today. Isheri-Olofin Roundabout is presently blocked, so is Council Roundabout and Cele-Egbe Bridge.
A statement from the officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the major roadblocks.
"Plan your movement before going out, as many roads are blocked," the statement reads.
"Okota end via Cele blocked, Ilupeju Byepass blocked, Cele-Egbe blocked, Lekki-Epe Corridor lockdown, Idimu and Isheri-Olofin, blocked, Ikotun Roundabout blocked, Oregun/Alausa blocked, Opebi Allen, blocked, Adekunle to Third Mainland, blocked."
Motorists and commercial yellow buses were seen in Idimu manoeuvring and wangling their way through streets, tipping hoodlums who have equally blocked part of the streets, demanding tolls.
The locked up major roads were occupied by crowds which gathered in different groups, some playing football, some partying while others discussed politics.
A protester who spoke with AlimoshoToday on condition of anonymity said: "We are here to show support. Everyone is affected one way or the other. Have you also not been harassed by police before?
"We'll begin to leave when it happens at Lekki, that's the headquarters of the protest. And don't forget Egbeda Roundabout and other places are also blocked. So it's not only here in Isheri," he declared.
