PUPILS living and schooling in Alimosho Local Government have expressed satisfaction with the COVID-19 guidelines specified by the Lagos State Government, as part of measures to ensure their safety while they returned to school, amidst the pandemic fears.

To them wearing a face shield and mask have now become as normal as wearing their school uniform. They've found it convenient and acceptable.

When AlimoshoToday made a random visit to schools, pupils in Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and a few other LCDAs have surprisingly stated that it is now fun to wear a face shield, nose mask and be socially distant from mates while in the school premises.

A learner in Senior Secondary School I at Deo-Lively Stones College, Victory Estate, Idimu, Olabisi Makinde, when asked whether it is convenient for her to wear a face shield and nose mask, said: "It is now part of our uniform and becoming part of us as students. I do not always remember that I am wearing one already when I put my head on the desk in class."

Caleb, a Primary 4 pupil of Toamy Hill School in Gemade Estate, Mosan Okunola LCDA, who spoke with the permission of the Head of School, Mrs Hannah Kalu, said: "Sometimes, I even forget I'm wearing a nose mask and face shield. I do not get scared when someone coughs around me."

It's really fun, Caleb said."
