Youths in Alimosho Local Government Area have unanimously endorsed the Prince of Isheri-Idimu, Idris Balogun, popularly known as Oluomo Kafata, to contest for and represent their constituency in the Federal House of Representatives in the 2023 General Elections.
According to Edafe Ogbenebrume, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Prince Balogun, youths from Igando, Ikotun, Egbe, Idimu, Ipaja and Alimosho area of Alimosho Federal Constituency have formed a movement and appointed Engr. Abiodun Akeem Ariori, popularly known as Oganla of Isheri land, as the chief mobiliser for the change mantra.
Edafe revealed that the youths are bemoaning the deplorable state of the roads and other infrastructure reportedly neglected as a result of the imposition of candidates by the party leadership, alleging that the representatives only represent themselves and their families.
Engr. Abiodun, who accepted to be the Chief Mobiliser, said he did so because he believes that it will be for the interest of Alimosho people irrespective of tribe and there was the need to make Alimosho work through popular choice in representation and hold them accountable.
He said it is on record that he has not collected anything from the government or politicians, rather, he was spending his own money to better the lives of people in Alimosho.
Abiodun explained that since his name came up for supporting the change agenda, he has been receiving several calls from politicians and he does not rule out the possibility of some of them attacking him and his property but added that he was convinced that Alimosho needs to be moved forward.
In the same vein, Prince Balogun said that he accepted the offer given to him to represent Alimosho Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, promising that he will never abandon the people because he had always identified with them.
He regretted the state of things in Alimosho and blamed it on the Party leadership in Alimosho, which usually imposed candidates on the people and are not accountable to the people.
