Lagos Safety Corps present maiden 30 km bicycle race

The bicycle race is aimed at promoting security awareness among the citizens and creating a work-and-play model to enhance healthy living among the corps officers of the agency.

THE Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) is set to hold the maiden edition of its Governor’s Challenge Bicycle Race competition scheduled for mid-September 2023. 

This information was disclosed by the General Manager of LNSA, Prince (Dr) Ifalade, at a briefing held at its Headquarters, Bolade, Oshodi, where he explained that the bicycle race is aimed at promoting security awareness among the citizens and creating a work-and-play model to enhance healthy living among the corps officers of the agency.5304

In his words: “The 30-Kilometre Bicycle Relay Race, involving 288 Officers from the 57 Commands across Lagos State, will be flagged off by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

“The race will kick off at the Eko Atlantic City Gate through Eko Boulevard to Apongbon, Costain Roundabout, Funsho Willams Avenue, Ikorodu Road and turn off at the Ojota interchange to join the Lagos-Ibadan Express Road to the Old Tollgate to the Lagos State Government Secretariat, Alausa for its completion and presentation of medals and prizes’’.5303

Oyekan also said the Agency will explore opportunities to expand the race with the inclusion of other participants from other Law Enforcement Agencies and Units of Lagos State.
