United appoint club legend as Ten Hag's assistant

MANCHESTER United are set to appoint retired footballer and club legend, Ruud Van Nistelrooy as an assistant coach to Erik Ten Hag.

The Dutchman, who was prolific for the Red Devils, scoring 150 goals for them, has made a name in the coaching sector for himself having beaten Arne Slot and Mikel Arteta as a manager while coaching PSV Eindhoven.

Ruud van Nistelrooy was at first linked to Burnley to take over from Vincent Kompany who is now in charge of Bayern Munich but he rejected the offer and prefers to be an assistant to Ten Hag.

“Ten Hag’s assistant Mitchell van der Gaag leaves Man Utd as contract will be terminated.

“Ruud van Nistelrooy’s arrival, 100% confirmed,” Romano tweeted.

United have also let a Dutchman go as  Donny van de Beek has officially left Manchester United to join Girona in Spain. The La Liga club will pay €500,000 fixed fee plus several add-ons for Van de Beek.
