FORMER Super Eagles of Nigeria and Arsenal player, Nwankwo Kanu has backed Ademola Lookman to be crowned the next CAF Africa Player of the Year.
The Atalanta man is among nine other players, including his Super Eagles teammate, William Troost-Ekong, who is in contention for the prestigious award.
With the award set to be held in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday, December 16, Kanu tipped the 27-year-old winger to be the recipient of the continental football award.
“Lookman is a very good player, humble, works very hard and going by the records, I believe he will win,” Kanu told Brilla FM.
“I don’t know of any African player who has done better than him this year. He was ranked well in the Ballon d’Or. He has done well for both club and country,” he added.
Ademola Lookman's performance last season for his club and country earned him a nomination at the 2024 Ballon d’Or, in which he finished in 14th position.
