Europe's best defensive midfielder, Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich has recovered from injury and has resumed training with possibility to play against RB Leipzig today.
Kimmich had injured himself in the 3-2 away win against Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of November and underwent surgery soon afterwards.
Kimmich was not expected to be ready to play until January, but that is not stopping the 25-year-old from pushing steadily through his rehab. Earlier Monday, he was seen running on the training grounds of Säbener Straße for the first time.
Back on November 20th, it was learnt from Kimmich’s surgeon, who sounded very confident, that the German star would be ready to resume full action in January. Given how ugly the injury appeared to be, the fact that Kimmich looks like he is on schedule to return is a tremendous feat.
Coach Hansi Flick said on Friday that it was left to the player to decide to play.
