1.    CHAOS, LAMENTATIONS AS FLOOD GROUNDS ACTIVITIES IN LAGOS


Chaos and despair gripped Lagos on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, as heavy rainfall caused widespread flooding in numerous neighbourhoods, paralysing activities across the State. Motorists were stranded on major roads, including the ever-busy Third Mainland Bridge, leaving many unable to navigate the treacherous conditions. Most hard hit by the heavy flooding were places like Ikeja, Agege, Ikorodu Road, Oworosonki, Egbeda, Oshodi, Funsho Williams, Lekki, Ajah, Obalende, among others.

2.  JAMB APPROVES CHANGE OF INSTITUTION, COURSE FOR DE APPLICANTS


The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the window for a change of institution or course choice for 2024 Direct Entry (DE) applicants. The Board said the service for change of institution/course is now available for interested applicants on its portal.

3.  COURT FREES MAN AFTER 15 YEARS IN PRISON WITHOUT TRIAL


An Ikeja High Court on Monday ordered the release of a man, Kazeem Adeshina, after spending 15 years in a correctional facility without charge or trial. Ogala, in her ruling, said the arrest and continued detention of Adeshina in the custody of the Medium Correctional Centre, Kirikiri, Lagos without a trial was wrong, illegal and unjustifiable.

4.  FORMER KONGA CEO, NICK IMUDIA ALLEGEDLY COMMITS SUICIDE


Nick Imudia, a former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Konga has allegedly committed suicide in his home. According to media reports, Nick, who was until his death, the CEO of D.light, a leading innovator in the distribution and financing of residential solar energy solutions and transformational household products, killed himself on the night of Tuesday, June 25, by jumping from the balcony of his Lekki, Lagos apartment.
