Gangs made me drop out of University- Oxlade

SINGER, Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, aka Oxlade, has opened up to dropping out of the University in his final year due to pressure from gangs.

The “Ku lo sa” crooner revealed that he had to abandon his studies at the Lagos State University due to gangs pressuring him to join them because he is a “fine boy”

In an appearance on the ’90s Baby Show podcast, Oxlade said; “ I dropped out of the University in my final year because it was a crazy time.

“There were some gangs after me because I’m a fine boy. Being a fine boy makes you a target. It’s either you join them or they off you. So I had to leave that environment."

The artist who was nominated in the 2023 Headies award also noted that things have changed now in the school as people are more focused on academics and making money.

“I went to Lagos State University (LASU). Go and read about the school. Now, they’re more focused on academics. I think they’ve realised how fragile life is and how important it is to pursue your dreams, so they’ve cracked down on that kind of behaviour. Now everyone is chasing money, but at that time, it was a hot period,” he added
