Damilola Ogunsin refused role for being Albino

NOLLYWOOD actor, who featured in Gang of Lagos, Damilola Ogunsin, has recounted how a movie director refused him a role in acting because he is an albino.

According to the actor, the director, who he refused to mention his name, asked him to mention how many albinos are in the movie industry and then went ahead to tell him that the movie industry was no place for him.

Ogunsin, speaking to HipTV said: “When I was coming into Nollywood, I had a major director who I will not mention his name. He looked at me and said, ‘Why do you want to be an actor? How many albinos do you find as actors? It’s not a place for you to be.

“I have been doing theatre since primary school. I have been in the theatre group in my primary school, secondary school, my church, in my polytechnic in Ibadan, in University of Lagos, and everywhere.”

The actor, nicknamed the Goldfish, retired from the banking industry to join the movie entertainment industry.
