NIGERIAN music stars are making waves at the 2024 MTV European Music Awards (EMAs) nomination list, with Ayra Starr topping the charts with an impressive four nominations.
In the list released by the organisers on Wednesday, Ayra Starr was nominated in the ‘Best African Act’, ‘Best Push’, ‘Best Afrobeats’ and ‘Best New Artist’ categories.
Other Nigerian musicians nominated for the ‘Best Afrobeats’ award are Tems, Burna Boy, Asake, and Rema.
Also, South Africa’s Tyla bagged four categories, including ‘Best New’, ‘Best Afrobeats’, ‘Best African Act’ and ‘Best R&B’.
American singer, Taylor Swift bagged the most nominations in seven categories.
The 30th edition of the award show will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Manchester’s Co-op Live in the UK.
