A film based on a Nigerian fuji icon, Ayinde Barrister, is set to be produced by award-winning producer and director Tunde Kelani.
Ayinde Barrister who started his music career in 1965 in Ebute Metta is referred to as one of the greatest fuji artistes of all time with multiple albums and shows home and abroad before his death in 2010.
Speaking about the movie, Tunde Kelani, who promises to produce the movie, said the forthcoming project, unofficially titled ‘Sikiru Ayinde Barrister’, would help to show the fuji artiste's contribution to fuji music in the country.
"My decision is irreversible. Barrister deserves to be so immortalised because of his numerous works which still set the pace for living fuji musicians in the market,” Kelani said.
The filmmaker, Tunde Kelani specialises in producing movies that promote Nigeria's rich cultural heritage and have a root in documentation, archiving, education, entertainment, and promotion of the culture.
