Post #EndSARS: Alimosho mayor visits stakeholders

The Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon and his team last week visited the Afonka Police Station, Oba of Shashaland and Area M Police Command in the wake of the arson, looting and vandalism that followed the #EndSARS protest.

In a statement released at the end of the visits, the Executive Chairman thanked Almighty God for sparing lives and the community. He also commended the various efforts of the Afonka DPO and his team as well as Oba of Shashaland during the challenging periods in the State. 

CSP Cashmir Ihiezu said the protest started peacefully. He recalled how he and his team guarded the protesters during their first seven days of the protest in Alimosho. Commenting on their various interventions during the violence era, he said, "it was a structural violence that developed into actual violence. It was a process. We have signed to safeguard the community, we have to do it".

Oba Ogunronbi Babatunde Nosiru, Onishasha of Shashaland also said, "the station and local government are for the community, we cannot sit down and allow it to be vandalised, we own it, we must protect it."

Hon. Jelili and his team further visited Area M Police Station. The Vice-Chairman, Hon. Prince Francis Adebisi; Secretary to Local Government, Hon. Dare Ogunkoya and Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Debo Adeshanu were part of the team that visited the stakeholders.
