THE Executive Chairman of the Alimosho Local Government Area, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon has received the officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) in preparation for the forthcoming Local Government and Councillors election.
The officials, led by her Chairman, Justice Bola Okikiolu Ighile, used the opportunity to discuss their preparation for the election, which will culminate in the election guidelines that will be released soon.
According to her, the Commission is set to deliver a credible 2025 Local Government election but requires the support of the Local Government authority from the pre-election activities to ensuring that the electorates vote till a credible candidate is pronounced the winner of the election at different levels.
She further used the opportunity to introduce all the officials of the team, including the Alimosho Local Government Electoral officer, Mrs Aguda Omobolanle, the host.
In his response, the Council Chairman, Hon. Jelili promised to give the Commission all the support needed to deliver a credible election in line with the guidelines that will be released by the Agency.
The Agency also used the medium to assess the electoral materials available in the Local Government in order to make appropriate arrangements.
Recall that LASIEC was inaugurated by the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on January 10, 2025, and since then, the officials of the Commission have been moving from one LGA/LCDA to another, seeking appropriate support.
