Jelili advocates unity, togetherness at APC meeting

THE Executive Chairman of the Alimosho Local Government Area, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon has advocated for the unity of all members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the LGA, putting aside all caucuses and factions.

Speaking at the LGA meeting held on Thursday, December 4, 2024, the council Boss appreciated all members for their steadfastness and then stated that it is, however, inadequate to be steadfast, all members should also come together as a united front to move the party forward and get all entitlements.

He added that “the members have received much less than the benefits they should have had if we were united. But when a faction of the members is trying to get us a reward, others will be requesting otherwise, which eventually will lead to an overall loss for all members.”

He stated that he had lost count of the benefits the members should have had if they were united, affirming that “we have been cheated on so many grounds with the excuse of ‘you are not united.

“While this position does not commensurate our collective efforts in Alimosho, it is, however, true that we are not united in our requests and efforts towards getting what should duly be ours.”

On his part, the Party Chairman, Hon. Tosin Fatoki, who had opened the meeting, also spoke about the need for members to preach patience among non-party members especially, as a result of the economic hardship.

According to the Party Chairman, “We should all recall that as the Governor of Lagos State, the first two years of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was tough due to his reforms for a better Lagos. Immediately after two years, everything changed for the better, and the entire Lagos became excited and happy to have him as Governor.”

He additionally, requested that all members should get prepared for the forthcoming party membership registration and revalidation as well as the Continuous Voters' registration by INEC. All registrations will commence sometime next year.
