ELDER, Comr. Femi Ikugbayigbe, a Chairmanship Aspirant in the Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area of Alimosho LGA under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Lagos State Local Government election, has appointed Comr. Waheed Akinyemi as the Head of Media and Publicity of his campaign.
Information reaching AlimoshoToday states that the appointment takes effect from Tuesday, July 23, 2024, as Ikugbayigbe handed the letter of appointment to Akinyemi in his office at Ikotun, Lagos.
In this capacity, Comrade Akinyemi will be responsible for managing the aspirant's media office, and media relations, and leading his public communications team.
While congratulating Akinyemi on his appointment, Ikugbayigbe, a political juggernaut and Public Affairs Analyst urged him (Akinyemi) to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the new assignment.
The appointment letter clearly stated that Akinyemi's appointment was based on his vast knowledge and experiences in the media world. He will supervise all media activities of Ikugbayigbe's Chairmanship campaign programmes.
Akinyemi is a graduate of the Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ) Ogba, and a seasoned investigative journalist and Publisher.
In 2013, Waheed Akinyemi co-founded "Our Community Newspaper Publication. He is also a shareholder of the Alimosho Heroes Award, which started in 2015 to honour distinguished individuals and organisations that have contributed immensely to the development of their society.
Also, in 2015 Comr. Akinyemi co-founded the first safety awards in Nigeria, (Nigeria Safety Award of Excellence) to honour health and safety personnel and organisations.
