Thursday evening has seen hoodlums breaking into shopping malls in Ikotun, including Twins Faja Supermarket and Foodcity, carting away goods in broad daylight.
It is no longer news that the curfew imposed by the state government has not in any way suppressed the ongoing rampage in the State, but has only kept business operators in their homes. Thugs and hoodlums are still having a field day on the streets-looting, breaking into shops and offices, and stealing from people.
An eyewitness, Mr. Akintunde Ajayi, said: "The recent attack on police stations in several parts of the State with nothing done specifically to address the issue is a major problem.
"Imagine, up till now President Muhammadu Buhari has not spoken with us after all those killings at Lekki. Is that good? Nobody is happy. I'm not supporting the looters."
Another observer who pleaded anonymity, said: "It's really sad. At least this shop is owned by someone. It's not government property. Let's assume the government offended them.
I won't say much. But I'll not be in support of this bad behaviour."
