Activate a ravishing glow with these 5 basic skin care hacks.

EXFOLIATING MASK

INVEST IN A FACIAL CLEANSER
To prevent breakouts and acne on your face, your facial cleanser is your best friend. Cleansers are generally used to remove make-up, dead skin cells, oil, and dirt from your skin. It is advisable to avoid alcohol-based cleansers as they can cause skin irritation. If you are using a liquid-based cleanser, make sure to wipe your face and neck until the cotton pad/wool comes out clean.

DRINK WATER AND MIND YOUR BUSINESS
This skincare routine is the easiest to follow, does not cost you money, and gives room for peace of mind. Drink enough water daily; adequate hydration prevents your skin from looking dry and saggy, prevents wrinkles, and ensures you have a clear head throughout the day. Babes, I’m currently on a challenge to drink at least 4 sachets of water daily or around 8 glasses of water daily, sounds easy, right? Then join me!

AVOID HEAT EXPOSURE AND INVEST IN SUNSCREEN
I know it is quite difficult to avoid exposing the skin to sun in Lagos because baby girl must ‘hustle’, right?  Constant exposure to the sun might cause early wrinkles and other skin problems like blackheads, acne, sunburns, and so on. Therefore, it is best to heavily invest in sunscreen and shades. Sunscreen is a cream-like substance that gives the skin a protective covering against sun rays and it comes in various strengths, the least being (Sun Protection Factor) SPF 15 and the highest being SPF 100. You must apply your sunscreen 15 minutes before stepping out.

BABES, MOISTURIZE YOUR SKIN
Sweetheart, the secret to maintaining your dry skin is to not dry it completely before moisturizing your body. Leaving your body a little wet while moisturizing ensures that the cream penetrates your body and leaves your skin hydrated throughout the day. The best times to apply your body lotion is when you get out of the shower and before going to bed.

EXFOLIATE REGULARLY
Exfoliating your skin doesn’t necessarily mean you have to wait for a spa day; you should always use a body scrub at the end of the week. Regular exfoliation prevents dead skin cells from clogging up your pores thereby preventing breakout and acne. You can also make your own mask at home; (babes, that’s a little ‘expo’ for our next edition).
