THE Lagos State Police Command has announced the death of four persons in a fire outbreak at a lounge and bar on Baale Road in the Olodi Apapa area of the State.
In a statement issued on Monday, Benjamin Hundeyin, Police Spokesperson in Lagos, said the fire started early in the morning, noting that a distress call was made to the Tolu police division after the fire broke out.
“Based on the report, teams of policemen and firefighters were swiftly mobilised to the scene, and the fire was successfully put out due to the combined efforts of all the teams.
“The corpses have been evacuated to the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) Morgue in Yaba for autopsy.
“The cause of the fire and the value of the property destroyed are still being determined, with investigations ongoing,” the statement read.
He added that the employees, yet to be identified, were burnt beyond recognition in the inferno.
