1. COURT FINES VERYDARKMAN N500M FOR DEFAMING FALANA, FALZ
The Lagos State High Court has ordered Martins Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, to pay some amount in damages to human rights advocate, Femi Falana, SAN, and his son, Folarin, aka Falz. Recall that the court had earlier asked the activist to take down all defamatory posts about the human rights activist and his son, Falz.
2. FOUR WORKERS DIE IN LAGOS BAR FIRE DISASTER
The Lagos State Police Command has announced the death of four persons in a fire outbreak at a lounge and bar on Baale Road in the Olodi Apapa area of the State. The employees, yet to be identified, were burnt beyond recognition in the inferno.
3. OONI HONOURS OLUREMI TINUBU WITH GOLDEN STATUE
In a grand ceremony at Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, unveiled a golden statue of First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, amongst others. The monarch reportedly praised her outstanding leadership, dedication to education, women’s empowerment, and national unity.
4. NDLEA DROPS HUSBAND’S CONSENT AS REQUIREMENT TO CLEAR WOMEN VISA
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced that married women will no longer be required to present a letter of approval from their husbands to obtain visa clearance for international travel. The Agency noted that the initial inclusion of this requirement was in response to certain developments in specific countries, which had necessitated stricter oversight of travel clearances.
