1. LASG REAFFIRMS BAN ON FLOGGING IN SCHOOLS
The Lagos State Government has reiterated its intolerance for corporal punishment in public schools and has upheld counselling as an effective correctional measure. Recall that the Lagos State Government banned corporal punishment in 2022. It implemented the Safeguarding and Child Protection Programme in school that year.
2. LASG MOVES TO END MALARIA WITH DIGITAL INNOVATION
In a bold and transformative move, the Lagos State Government has announced the launch of the Pathway to Malaria Pre-Elimination & Digitisation Programme, an ambitious initiative designed to accelerate malaria elimination through digital innovations, strengthened case management, and enhanced public-private partnerships.
3. LANDS BUREAU MEETS EGAN-AKESAN RESIDENTS OVER ILLEGAL STRUCTURES
The Lagos State Lands Bureau has recently held a stakeholders’ meeting with residents of the Egan-Akesan community in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA of the Alimosho Local Government Area. The meeting aimed to address concerns regarding illegal structures within designated Government residential schemes.
4. LASG ARRESTS MISCREANTS EXTORTING PEDESTRIANS ON OSHODI BRIDGE
THE Lagos State Government has arrested individuals allegedly extorting money from pedestrians using the closed Oshodi pedestrian bridge. Recall that the State had shut down the bridge in January over safety concerns, leading to congestion on an alternative pedestrian bridge.
