OVER 500 residents of the Alimosho Federal Constituency have benefitted from the empowerment programme of Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, a Member of the House of Representatives representing the Alimosho Federal Constituency in the 10th National Assembly.
Information reaching AlimoshoToday states that the beneficiaries cut across the six (6) Local Governments and Council Development Areas of the Constituency, including Alimosho, Igando-Ikotun, Mosan-Okunola, Egbe-Idimu, Agbado/Oke-Odo, and Ayobo/Ipaja.
The five-fold empowerment programme involved the training and empowerment of youths in ICT/mobile phone repairs, with training and empowerment of youths and women in fish farming including the distribution of necessary equipment, and the distribution of complete sewing machines, grinding machines, and distribution of cash grants to the elderly.
Hon. Ayuba, in his speech during the empowerment event held at the Secretariat of the Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, said, "I want to express my sincere appreciation to everyone here today for your unflinching support since my emergence as your representative in the National Assembly. My commitment to serve the people to the best of my ability remains unchanged. Permit me to use this medium to reinstate my commitment to poverty alleviation, youth development, wealth creation, and infrastructural and human capital development in our constituency.
"I have facilitated many developmental projects and empowerment programmes in the 2024 budget, many of which are already executed and spread across our Constituency. Some of these projects include the provision and installation of all-in-one solar-powered street lights across Alimosho Constituency and the provision of solar-powered boreholes across Alimosho Federal Constituency."
He seized the opportunity to advise the participants and other beneficiaries of the various empowerment programmes to put in their best and maximally utilise the opportunity given to them.
Meanwhile, the Member representing the Alimosho Constituency 02 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Kehinde Olaide Joseph, also urged the beneficiaries to take good advantage of the empowerment.
In his welcome address, the Director General of Hon. Ayuba’s Campaign Organisation, Barr. Rotimi Ogunwuyi expressed gratitude for the presence of attendees and highlighted the significance of fulfilling campaign promises. "We are here today to give back to society and to honour the commitments made during our campaign," he stated.
In his goodwill message, the Executive Chairman of the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya, who was represented by his Vice, Hon. Mrs Mojisola Badmus, appreciated Hon. Ayuba for his kind gesture to Alimosho constituents. Badmus then enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity given to them.
Other dignitaries at the event were the Executive Chairman of Alimosho LGA, Hon. Sulaiman Jelili; Ayuba’s campaign Director General, Barr. Rotimi Ogunwuyi; Chief Yisa Yusuf; Alhaji Waheed Orire; Cooperator Olusegun Shodiya; Hon. Gbemileke Adeyni, Hon. Wale Azeez, among other leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Constituency.
