The programme is set in batches as the first batch of 150 youths spread across Lagos West Senatorial District was present at the empowerment programme yesterday.
Senator Yayi said: "Here is the Empowerment of 150 Constituents across Lagos West through my facilitation of for two weeks training on fish production and business at the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology."
Senator Yayi further said that apart from the certificate of participation, each candidate also acquired start-up tools and capital.
These, according to him, included a manual which covers all aspects of fish and fish business.
There was also a 2,500-litre water tank for Housing and Growing Fishes.
Participants also received bags of feeds to grow fishes to market sizes. The Senator also said participants equally received fries/fingerlings and seed working capital for running cost.
AlimoshoToday learnt that about 1,000 youths are going to benefit from the scheme.
