HISTORY was made on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the palace of the Ooni of Ife when members of Okun Alimosho and other groups returned to their ‘holy land’ to pay obeisance to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja ll).

The holy pilgrimage to the ancestral land is a notion conceived by the members of Okun Alimosho and other groups in the community like the Alimosho Bikers Club, the Association of Nigerian Theatre Practitioners (ANTP), the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), the Awori community, the Dog Lovers club, Afro-strength, Africa G.A.T.E.S, and Alimoshotoday.com.

The visit also included other groups like Damope Pictures, Kez Creative, City Pride Magazine, and the Visual Arts Group.

The motive of the visit is to officially invite His Imperial Majesty as the Grand Patron of the Alimosho Festival 2021, slated between November and December 2021;  also, to introduce to His Imperial Majesty, the Cowry Wealth app, an app that is built to document and archive the Yoruba history, as well, to request of him to be the first icon that will be featured on the application.

The Okun Alimosho group also implored the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, to give them the liberty of launching the mobile application in Ile-Ife, before the official launching in Alimosho during the Alimosho Festival of Arts and Culture in December.

The journey was a success as His Imperial Majesty agreed to the official launching of the Cowry Wealth app in Ile-Ife. He also agreed to be the Grand Patron of the Alimosho Festival.

The Holy visit was concluded with the presentation of gifts to the Ooni; he was presented with the Alimosho Festival gift box by the Okun Alimosho group, two portraits drawing of himself done by the Visual Arts Group, copies of ‘Dog Care Manual-Kizito Nwogu’ by the Dog Lovers Club, amongst other gifts.
