Oki/Alaguntan Councillor urges residents to reject protest, shun violence

THE Honourable Councilor representing the people of Oki/Alaguntan Ward in the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. Busola Afolabi has called on all constituents to unequivocally reject the national protest planned by unknown leaders, who are aiming to destroy the peace and unity of our dear country, Nigeria, noting that the protest threatens to disrupt the communities and hinder the progress towards resolving the current economic challenges.

In a statement made available for publication, Hon. Busola Afolabi acknowledged the current economic hardship in the country, but emphasised the importance of allowing the Government's intervention and policies to take effect, stating that the measures are designed to address and alleviate the economic difficulties that many residents are experiencing.

She said engaging in the protests could lead to violence and disorder, and will only exacerbate the situation and delay the much-needed recovery.

Hon. Afolabi urged all residents of Oki/Alaguntan Ward to exercise patience and support the ongoing efforts of the Government at the state and national levels, adding “Our collective action towards unity and constructive engagement is crucial for overcoming the present challenges and building a better future for our community.”

Pleading on behalf of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, she called on the people to promote peace and stability. “By supporting the Government's policies and shunning violence, we can all contribute to a more prosperous and harmonious environment for everyone,” she added.
