THE Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa, has been conferred with an Award for Meritorious Service to the Scout Association at this year’s edition of The Commissioner's Camp.
The event, held on Saturday, November 18, 2024, was part of a 3-day programme at the State Camp Ground, Ibeshe, Ikorodu, Lagos with the theme “SCOUTING: We are in this Together.”
The Meritorious Award was presented by the Lagos State Commissioner for Youths and Social Development, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, who represented the State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Grand Patron of the Association in Lagos State. 
In the course of the interactive programme, Scouter Kazeem Adewale Jimoh, SHQ Commissioner, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) delivered a lecture on “Building Resilient Communities through Scouting”, summing up in the words of Charles Darwin that "it is not the strongest of the species that survives nor the most intelligent, it is the one that is most adaptable to change.”
It is worth remembering that the Executive Chairman was a year ago inaugurated as the Patron of the Agbado Oke-Odo District LA Scout Association on November 11, 2023, during an Investiture Ceremony.
To round off the event, the Lagos State Scout Commissioner, Alhaji Olohuntoyin Adebesin, conducted the Hon. Commissioner and Hon. Famuyiwa, who is the Chairman of this year’s edition of the annual event, and other dignitaries on a tour of facilities on the Ibeshe Camp.
Among the participants at the programme were Scout Master Aderemi Adeyemo, an aide to the Executive Chairman, Scouter Mgbeme Okechukwu Oluwasegun, the LCDA District Commissioner, and a large contingent of scouts from the Agbado Oke-Odo Local Association.
