MANY individuals have sustained injuries and goods destroyed following a confrontation between hoodlums in the Ile-Epo vicinity of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA in the Alimosho LGA of Lagos State.
According to media reports, during a fight, which started in the Ile-Epo market on Wednesday night and continued till the early hours of Thursday, May 2, 2024, some shops were set on fire while some goods were destroyed in the process.
Although the cause of the crisis is yet to be ascertained, some reports alleged that the crisis was caused by Hausa and Yoruba traders who clashed over missing money.
Meanwhile, an early intervention by the police was restricted by the hoodlums and a fire service truck that drove into the market this morning was also forced to turn back after being pelted with stones.
Also, the Executive Chairman of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. David Famuyiwa has visited the market to restore calm to the ongoing crisis happening in the market.
