1.  HOODLUMS CLASH IN OKE-ODO, SET MARKET ON FIRE (PHOTOS)9442
Many individuals have sustained injuries and goods destroyed following a confrontation between hoodlums in the Ile-Epo vicinity of the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA in the Alimosho LGA of Lagos State. According to media reports, during a fight, which started in the Ile-Epo market on Wednesday night and continued till the early hours of Thursday, May 2, 2024, some shops were set on fire while some goods were destroyed in the process.

2.  CBN REPORTEDLY BANS MONIEPOINT,  OPAY, KUDA, OTHERS FROM TAKING NEW CUSTOMERS9431
The Central Bank of Nigeria has barred some microfinance banks, including Moniepoint, Opay and Kuda, from opening new accounts and onboarding new customers. According to media reports, the ban is over allegations that these accounts were being used to funnel cryptocurrency and manipulate the naira’s value.

3.  AKINSANYA UPGRADES EGAN PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRE9395
As part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery in the Igando-Ikotun LCDA, the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde has renovated the Egan Primary Health Centre. This upgraded Primary Health Centre was achieved by the Akinsanya-led administration in collaboration with some international NGOs.

4.  MAN REPORTEDLY COMMITS SUICIDE OVER N60,000 RENT IN IGANDO9441
A man in his mid-30s, identified as Baale or Radical, has reportedly committed suicide after he was issued a quit notice from his apartment for not being able to pay his annual rent of N35,000, which was increased to N60,000.
