Jelili celebrates Alimosho workers on Workers Day

THE Executive Chairman of the Alimosho LGA, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon has celebrated with the labour force of the council area as they celebrate the Year 2024 International Worker’s Day.

The council Chairman, in a May Day note today Wednesday, May 1, 2024, wrote; “Dear Alimosho Workers, as the council Chairman of this great Local Government, it is truly an honour to address you on this Workers Day.

“Today, we come together to celebrate and honour the hard work and dedication of our workforce. From the teachers who educate our children, to the healthcare workers who care for our loved ones, to the security personnel who keep us safe – each and every one of you plays a crucial role in making our city the amazing place it is.

“Workers Day is more than just a day off work, it is a day to recognise and appreciate the contributions of the working men and women who power our economy and drive our society forward.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to making our city thrive. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and it is truly appreciated by me and the entire community.2202

“On this Labour Day, let us also remember those who fought for workers’ rights and fair treatment in the past. Their sacrifices have paved the way for the rights and protections that we enjoy today, and we must never forget their bravery and dedication.

“As we reflect on the importance of labour and the significance of this day, let us also recommit ourselves to supporting and advocating for fair wages, equal opportunities for all workers and safe working conditions just as the theme of this year's Workers Day "to ensure workplace safety and health amidst climate change".

“I am proud to stand with you, the backbone of our city, and I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that each and every one of you is able to thrive and succeed in your careers.

“Thank you for all that you do, and happy Labour Day to each and every one of you. Let us continue to work together to build a brighter future for all workers in our city.”
